Cement contractor Mike Stenberg (left) and Joe Baloni (right) from Jendusa Engineering inspect the instalation of the Fortico beams and rebar prior to pouring the concrete deck over the baement. When the concrete is poured, it will ooze through the rectangular holes that you can see in the top edge of the Forteco beams entraping the edge of the beam, and the rebar, essentially making the entire deck one solid structure. When the concrete has cured, the deck will be able to support 150 pounds/square foot dead load and 150 pounds/square foot live load. Only 50 pounds/square foot is needed to support an automoibile.
